Did we forget to mention we’re playing a show this Saturday? We’re helping celebrate the opening of our friend Chris’ new record shop in Ballard. We’ll be playing a handful of new songs (plus a few oldies) around 7pm, and D. Crane from BOAT will be doing a solo set as well. Drop by and say hi!

Happy New Year! We’re looking forward to a return in 2010 with a new full-length due in the spring, and our first shows in nearly two years in the works as well. We’re back, baby!

The new Matinee Grand Prix compilation includes our first new song in over two years, “I Keep to Myself.” The song won’t be on our upcoming album, and most of the other tracks on the comp are exclusive as well. You can check out our contribution on our MySpace page.

*tap* *tap* Is this thing on? Hey, we’re headed into the studio next month to begin recording our second LP. Really! We’ll be working with producer/engineer Martin Feveyear this time, and we’ve even convinced our former comrade Kevin to sit in on drums. Has it really been two years since our last release?

Hey everyone, in between potty training and diaper disasters, we’ve been making good progress on the new set of songs. We should be ready to do a bunch of recording late summer or early fall. We’ll keep you posted!

We’re sad to report that Kevin has decided to leave the band. He’s a busy man these days with a young family, burgeoning writing career, and other musical pursuits, so something had to give. It’s quite possible you’ll still hear Kevin on future MAPC recordings, but officially he’s calling it a day. We’ll miss his rock steady beats and aviator cool, but the rest of us plan to carry on and still hope to release some new material later this year.

Congrats to Kevin who received a starred review in Booklist for his new novel, Carlos is Gonna Get It. Nice one! Books…babies…it’s no wonder we haven’t released a new record lately. In the meantime, you can check out unreleased acoustic versions of “Love, Again” and “Do You Keep A Diary” on MySpace.
