4/29/08 Hey, check it out, our very own Kevin Emerson is soon to be a published author! The first of his young adult vampire series is being released this summer by Scholastic. How cool is that? High five, Kevin!
2/15/08 KEXP recently archived our live in-studio performance from November that featured acoustic versions of Darling Please Come Home, Do You Keep a Diary, White and Grey, and more. Special thanks to our friend Brian Kinsella for sitting in with us on keyboards and melodica!
1/8/08 Happy 2008!
11/30/07 Sadly our December 4th show with Voxtrot and Tullycraft will be the last for our violinist Saundrah. Though she may still pop up on future recordings, she will no longer be playing live with the band. Anyone who’s seen us knows that Saundrah added a touch of class to our otherwise shambling performances, so you might want to catch her last show if you can! Doors at 8pm, show at 9pm. We play first. (Pssst! Hey kids, it’s all-ages!)
11/30/07 It’s that time of year again, so let us help put you in the mood with our version of the holiday classic “A Marshmallow World.” The world is your snowball…
11/12/07 We’ll be live on KEXP 90.3 FM (Seattle) on Tuesday, November 13 at 1pm PST . Listen to streaming audio on KEXP, or watch a special live video feed on the Research Channel!
10/18/07 Happy 10th anniversary to Matinee Recordings! To help celebrate we’ve contributed a new song called “A Little Romance” to the Matinee Hit Parade compilation, out October 29th. The compilation contains 13 exclusive tracks from your favorite Matinee artists on a custom cd that looks just like a tiny 45 rpm record. A must!
10/15/07 Here are a couple videos on YouTube from our show in Santa Barbara. Thanks to April and Charlie for posting them!
9/3/07 Our new EP won’t officially be released until this fall, but you can catch a sneek peek of the title track on Matinee’s website now! We’ve also updated the shows page with more details about our upcoming gigs with the Lucksmiths. Advance copies of the EP will be available at all the shows. Woohoo!

2/21/07 For those who have been waiting, the new LP is now available on iTunes! Our apologies for the delay. Happy downloading…
2/14/07 Who has not sat on a bench and watched a common Crow reveal more cranial capacity than many people you know? To our amazement, we discovered a video of this precocious creature crafting a tool to solve a rather hefty problem. Not sure what this has to do with Valentine’s Day but it’s fascinating nonetheless…Learn more about crows in this fab book!
1/25/07 Our last show until summertime will be at Town Hall on February 17 as part of their Saturday Family Concerts series. Please note this is a special show for kids, so we will not be playing MAPC songs. Instead we’ve put together a “variety show” of sorts, with all the fun and games and music we could pack into one hour, including appearances by our pals Central Services. Also, as this is a concert series designed for families, adults must be accompanied by a kid under 12 to get in the door. Surely you know a kid who enjoys music and fun?
12/24/06 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! All the best to you and yours and thanks again for all your support this past year.
12/21/06 Wow, Popmatters gave high honors to our LP in their year end review. Thanks Popmatters!

6/8/06 We recently recorded a version of Beat Happening’s ‘Angel Gone’ for a 7″ split vinyl out now on a Spanish record label called tragadiscos. The 7″ also feaures tracks by the Acid House Kings, Sambassadeur, and Loveninjas. There were only 400 hand numbered copies pressed so act fast! Check out the tragadiscos website for more details!
5/11/06 If you’re looking for another way to grab our EPs, hop on over to K Records. They now have a few copies available for purchase.
2/14/06 Have a look at the first ever mapc video Ethan’s brother and friends created for us! It was shot at our movie ending romance record release show last July.
1/4/06 We’re taking a little time off from our heavy touring schedule to record a few new songs. Wishing you all a peaceful New Year!

9/2/05 Our hearts go out to all those who have suffered during Hurricane Katrina. Here are some options for donating to the relief effort. Times like this make us all aware of other neglected emergencies around the world. A friend from Peace Corps is putting on a Benefit Concert for Niger Sunday 9/18 at the Rendezvous here in Seattle. Niger is a country in West Africa suffering from a persistent drought and very destructive plaques of locusts. 1/3 of the nation’s 2.5 million people are at risk of starvation. You can learn more about this largely unreported crisis here.
8/24/05 MAPC is proud to introduce Kevin and his wife Annie’s brand new girl, Willow Emerson! A healthy 7 pound, 6 ouncer (that’s a keeper!) born August 22, 2005, at 8:21pm. Mom, dad, and baby are all doing great! Expect some guest “cooing” on the next record…
8/11/05 Have a look at our new gig transportation. Thanks Matinee Recordings!
7/28/05 MAPC contributed 2 songs - including one previously unreleased track - to a local compilation cd called “Strength in Numbers”. It features songs from eight great northwest bands. Copies are available from The Jeunes website. Check it out!
7/26/05 We just added a cover of the Razorcuts’ ‘A is for Alphabet’ to our listen page. It’s from our live appearance on a Berkeley college radio station during our recent visit to San Francisco for PopFest 2005. Enjoy everyone, and thanks to Gregory Webster!

5/6/05 Can you keep a secret? We just found out we’re going to play Bumbershoot this year! We’re dead excited as this is something many of us have secretly dreamed of doing since we were wee little ones.
5/5/05 Special thanks to all who came out to our recent string of shows. We had a great time hanging out and playing with the Lucksmiths! All the best to them on the remaining bits of their US tour.
4/27/05 We just added a new show! We’re playing on Friday 5/20 at the Pete Greenberg Benefit Show at the Crocodile. Pete has been really active in the Seattle music community for a long time and needs some help paying a large medical bill. Pete was the first person to go out on the limb and book us at the Crocodile last December. There will be a cool complete re-creation of the Who’s Tommy as well. How an you miss that? Please come support Pete.
4/12/05 Looking for something new and exciting?! Ok, would you settle for something new? We just added a newsletter subscription widget to our website. Go on, have a look. If you are already subscribed, fear not, you’re all set to receive future newsletters!

We’re very flattered that it’s selling so well, and we have you to thank for it!
We had great fun doing a live, in-studio session with John Richards at KEXP recently. If you missed it, you can listen in the streaming archive. That will be our last live appearance for a while as we’ve decided to retreat to the basement to get ready for our next record. Also, we’ve finalized plans to join the Lucksmiths in LA and San Francisco in addition to the Seattle show! So anyone in those parts who can make it, please do come say hello. See you all soon…
2/26/05 Hey kids, it’s finally here! You can pick up your copy of the Weekends Away EP online from Matinee Recordings (or at any of the other fine online vendors listed on the Matinee order page). In the Seattle area, Sonic Boom Records has a few copies at each location, so if you hurry you may be able to snatch up on of those. You can do us a favor by requesting your local record store to stock the EP. Thanks!
2/8/05 David, “Smell The Glove” is almost here. You can pre-order copies of our very first EP on the Matinee Recordings now! The official release date is February 28, but if you pre-order through Matinee, you *might* just get it sooner. Thanks to everyone for your continued kind words and well wishes. 1/4/05 Dana from Three Imaginary Girls did a great article on the Top 9 Under the Radar Releases for 2004 in Music for America this week. LOTS of great bands are highlighted. Somehow mapc shows up on the list. Best guess - it must have been a typo.
1/3/05 We’re all very sad about the tsunami tragedy that hit Asia recently. USAID has put together a nice site that details many of the aid organizations responding to this disaster. Please do have a look.
12/28/04 We had a great time at the Crocodile show last night. Thanks to all of you who came out!
12/20/04 Word on the street is that you can download an mp3 of Weekends Away (an older demo cut) at the Three Imaginary Girls site right now. So what are you waiting for?! Wishing all of you the best of holidays!

8/14/04 We put on a classic Pacific Northwest outdoor house party last weekend. MAPC played a few songs as well as several friends, including our very own Kevin Emerson. We had a mini-reunion with several old friends from Bellingham and discoverd Sean Berry’s little label called Double Crown Records is doing very well. Do have a look.
7/20/04 We just added a few new tunes! Have a listen here. We are also very proud to announce the birth of two beautiful new MAPC members - Kevin and Saundrah.
7/18/04 The band went down to Neumos to see Camera Obscura on Saturday evening (they totally rocked!). It was a major treat to finally see the opening band Tullycraft as well. We realized the lead singer used to be in Crayon. Seeing Camera Obscura made us want a horn player all the more!! If someone out there is interested, do let us know.
6/30/04 We are looking for a couple more players to round out our sound. If you’re interested, take a look here.
6/27/04 We did an open mic at the Rainbow Room on Sunday evening. It was great to hear a few of our songs with Kevin’s excellent drums. Sound at the Rainbow is actually really cool.
